“I will live with the consequences whatever will be, will be,” Murder suspect tells investigators

By Michael Jordan

The Police Force’s Major Crimes Unit is now spearheading investigations into the murder of 29-year-old Donalesa Park, after a postmortem has confirmed that she was strangled.

They are said to be grilling the detained army rank who so far appears to be the only suspect. Asked if there has been any significant development, a senior official said “we are still interviewing him.”

Park’s body was found “obliquely opposite” the suspect’s home, police said. The victim reportedly has a five-year-old son.

Sources described the Camp Seweyo-based suspect as “a business partner” of the slain woman.

Park’s body was found wrapped in plastic at around 07.00 hrs on Thursday, June 30, at Courtland Village Public Road, Corentyne, Berbice. Her sister reportedly last saw her alive on Wednesday, June 29 at her home.

Park had departed from her home to braid someone’s hair at Fort Ordinance, Canje, Berbice. But when the sister contacted the woman at 6.00 hrs on Thursday, the individual said Park did not visit her but indicated that she was heading to Corentyne.
