Top Cop, ELT Meet with Brava Guyana to Strengthen Partnership

Guyana Police Force (GPF) leadership received a courtesy visit from Brava Guyana, the business solutions arm of GT&T, at the Commissioner’s Conference Room, Eve Leary.
The delegation, led by Hilton Wong, Head of Business Brava Guyana, met with Commissioner of Police Clifton Hicken, Deputy Commissioner ‘Administration’ (ag) Ravindradat Budhram, Senior Superintendent Jermaine Johnson, and Superintendent Bharrat Persaud.
According to a statement from the GPF, the meeting aimed to reaffirm and strengthen the longstanding partnership between the GPF and GT&T. Mr. Wong emphasized the importance of aligning priorities between the two organizations, noting the value of ongoing commitment and collaboration to support the GPF’s mission and, by extension, the broader goals of national security.
Commissioner Hicken expressed his gratitude for the visit, underscoring the vital role of technological advancements in modern policing. He highlighted the significance of the collaboration with Brava Guyana in enhancing the GPF’s operational efficiency and service delivery to the public.
Brava Guyana’s Lead Public Sector representative, Ms. Candacy Toney, outlined the company’s intention to assist in the digitization of all public sector operations, including the GPF. She highlighted that this effort would involve collaboration and support for transformative changes designed to enhance service delivery, reduce costs, and improve the quality of life for citizens.
Account Manager for Public Sector, Ms. Jesseca Nurse, added that the meeting was an opportunity to introduce the GPF to the array of solutions Brava Guyana offers. She believes these solutions would add significant value to the GPF’s existing services, particularly in enhancing digital communication.
Senior Superintendent Johnson discussed the ongoing efforts to convert the GPF’s communication infrastructure from copper lines to fiber optic lines. He pointed out that this transition would improve service quality, reduce maintenance costs, and expand service capacity, ultimately boosting the GPF’s digital communication capabilities.
Deputy Commissioner Budhram emphasized the importance of administrative and logistical support in successfully implementing new technologies. He noted that the partnership with Brava Guyana would streamline the GPF’s communication systems, leading to better coordination and resource management.
The Brava Guyana team also included ICT Business Development Manager Mr. Lloyd Harmon and Pre-Sales Engineers Mr. Colvin Lockhart and Mr. Nicholas Stephney.
