Walrond calls ranks who feel sexually violated to come and see her

Members of the Joint Services who are being taken advantage of sexually by those in authority above them are being encouraged to meet with Home Affairs Minister Oneidge Walrond in her office, who will ensure that their complaints are taken and investigated.

“Young women ought to be able to live happy, fulfilled lives in any career, and especially in a male-dominated profession, they ought to feel that they are able to realize their full potential, and you know its not only young women… young men too, are subject to sexual victimization. And so, I will say that I’ve come into this position with a no tolerance approach to criminal behavior, especially where it derails young people because they are our future,” Home Affairs Minister Walrond told BIG Smith News Watch.

The Minister was at the time appearing on FOCUS, a production of the BIG Smith News Watch. Minister Walrond said her door is open and her office is a safe space.

“As the Minister of Home Affairs, I would like our young women, especially, to know that they have a place, a safe space that they can come to in the Minister of Home Affairs if they have issues in the agencies under which, are my purview”

The minister was part of the system that administered law (her being a Former Magistrate), she understands that when people feel that they have recourse, it is such a rehabilitative effect on individuals and communities.

She has made it clear that no act of victimization against those who come forward will be tolerated, and it starts with her taking the lead role.

JOIN US AT 19:00HRS ON WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 05, 2025 where we will release the part of the interview where the minister addressed sexual behaviours. Also in that interview, you, the minister, was shown images of a Deputy Commissioner of Police in a compromising position with a junior police rank.
