
Khemraj Persaud, also known as Pandit, a 67-year-old farmer and businessman from Lot 2 Unity Mahaica, East Coast Demerara, has been charged with the murder of Chormanie Tulsie, also known as Anita.
The alleged crime occurred between November 21 and 22, 2023, in Unity.
Persaud appeared this morning at the Mahaica Magistrateโs Court before Magistrate Alan Wilson. The charge of murder, contrary to common law, was read to him. Persaud was not required to enter a plea and was remanded to prison.
The case has been adjourned to June 20, 2024.
