Two arrested for ‘pastry man’ murder.

Two men have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the murder of Shawn Albert, which occurred on August 29th, 2021 at the Onderneeming Sandpit on the Essequibo Coast. Albert, also known as Dexter, was shot during an armed robbery, while selling pastries within the community.

According to police, two suspects were arrested following intel provided by an informant. The men were arrested around 02:00hrs. yesterday, Wednesday morning during a police operation in the Onderneeming Community. Police in a release said that one of the suspects was previously charged with robbery.

This publication understands that both men have since denied their involvement in the crime, and have since give separate accounts as to where they were at the time of the murder. Police indicated that investigators are currently examining the alibis provided by the suspects.
