Three men from Shea Village in the South Rupununi have been charged in connection with the alleged possession of firearms and ammunition without a licence.

Charged are Franklin Edwards, a 53-year-old farmer, along with Romauld Edwards, 20, and Francisco Edwards, 22, who are also farmers of the same address.

The trio appeared on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, before Magistrate Omadatt Chandan at the Lethem Magistrate’s Court, where the charges were read to them. All three men pleaded not guilty.

They were each granted bail in the sum of $100,000 for the firearm charge and $75,000 for the ammunition charge.

As part of their bail conditions, the defendants are required to report to the police every Friday at 10:00 hrs.
