GPF Gymkhana returns April 2026

March 10 2026
Excitement is building as the Guyana Police Force Gymkhana makes its long-awaited return, promising a day of thrilling displays, family fun, and community engagement.
For decades, the annual event has been one of the country’s most anticipated attractions, showcasing the skills, discipline, and teamwork of members of the Guyana Police Force while providing entertainment for spectators from across Guyana.
Traditionally hosted at the Police Sports Club Ground at Eve Leary, the Gymkhana has been a favourite outing for families and supporters alike.
The event was temporarily postponed in recent months as the Force focused its full attention on maintaining national security and ensuring operational readiness in the lead-up to the 2025 General Elections. During that time, officers were fully engaged in safeguarding a peaceful and successful democratic process.
With those responsibilities now completed, preparations are underway for the return of the popular event, which is scheduled for April 26, 2026.
This year’s Gymkhana will feature many crowd favourites, including Scent Work, Obedience Drills, and Acrobatics, along with exciting ATV and Motorcycle Stunt Races, Horse Racing, and fun-filled activities such as the comedic “Late for School” challenge, Tug-O-War, and Sack Races.
Organisers say the return of the Gymkhana is expected to once again bring together communities from across the country for a day of entertainment, friendly competition, and celebration of the Force’s longstanding traditions.
