Bagotstown Road Safety Operation Nets 16 Violations

Eariler this week, police carried out an enforcement exercise along the Bagotstown Public Road, East Bank Demerara, targeting traffic violations by motorcyclists.

 

Between 15:45 hrs and 16:55 hrs, a team led by Inspector R. Scott and including several ranks issued a total of 16 tickets for various breaches of the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Regulations.

 

The infractions included:

 

Eight cases of riders failing to wear safety helmets.

 

One case of a driver carrying a pillion passenger without a helmet.

 

Three cases of driving uncertified motor vehicles.

 

Two cases of motorcycles without reflecting mirrors.

 

Two cases of motorcycles without silencers.

 

Police said the district otherwise remained quiet during the operation.
