Tragedy on Linden Highway: Four Dead in Domestic Dispute

April 24, 2025 — Police are investigating a tragic incident believed to be a case of murder-suicide and attempted murder, which occurred on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at around 9:10 p.m. on Ideal Road, Linden-Soesdyke Highway.
The victims have been identified as four members of the LaCruz family:
According to a police report, Maline LaCruz, 25, was found with multiple injuries including to her back, chest, and throat.
Waveney LaCruz, 50, reportedly sustained gunshot wounds to her head, chest, and hand.
SueAnn LaCruz, 16, was wounded in the chest and lower back.
Seon LaCruz, 23, survived the attack but remains in critical condition with suspected gunshot wounds to his shoulder and jaw.
Police have identified the alleged shooter as Parmanand Ramdehol, the reputed husband of Maline LaCruz and father of her two youngest children.
He was found dead at the scene from what is suspected to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
A firearm, believed to be a 9mm APX Beretta pistol, was recovered next to his body along with a small uncorked bottle emitting a strong chemical odor. It remains unclear whether Ramdehol was licensed to possess the weapon.
According to a resident who was with Maline and her family earlier that day, they had spent time at a creek along the Linden Highway before heading to the Soesdyke Junction. There, Ramdehol allegedly met the group and later followed them to Maline’s home. The witness said an argument broke out between Maline and Ramdehol, followed by several loud explosions believed to be gunshots. She fled the house with Maline’s children.
Police responded to the scene and recovered multiple spent shells, warheads, and metal fragments. The firearm and all ballistic evidence were lodged at the Timehri Police Station.
All four victims were rushed to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre, where Maline, Waveney, and SueAnn were pronounced dead. Seon LaCruz was transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation for emergency surgery.
The home remains under police guard, and investigations are ongoing.
Prior History of Violence
Police confirmed that Ramdehol had previously been charged on January 9, 2025, with wounding and making threats against Maline LaCruz. He had been remanded to prison but was later released on bail. The court matter was called again on the day of the fatal incident and was adjourned to a later date.
The bodies of the deceased have been transported to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, pending post-mortem examinations.
Authorities are urging anyone with further information to come forward as the investigation continues.
