Three persons are in police custody as the search continues for six-year-old Orlando Jaikarran, also known as “Lil Boy,” who went missing from his home at Bath, West Coast Berbice.

Orlando, who resides with his father, he was last seen at about 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, when he reportedly went to bed with his two brothers.

Police ranks from Regional Division Five conducted searches at several locations in the Bath area on Friday, October 16, including surrounding backlands, but the child remained missing.

According to information provided to investigators, at about 5:15 a.m. on Thursday, October 15, one of Orlando’s brothers alerted their father that the child was missing.

Police sources have confirmed that the boy’s father is among the three in custody at this time.

The father and others reportedly searched in and around the community but was unable to find his son. He subsequently reported the matter at Fort Wellington Police Station.

At about 9:30 a.m. that Thursday, a detective sergeant and a team of police ranks, accompanied by the child’s father, conducted checks throughout the community. However, Orlando was not located.

Investigators subsequently received information from 29-year-old Mohanie Seegibin, who reported seeing the child walking along Bath Public Road at about 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 15.

Orlando is six years old, approximately three feet tall, slim-built, with short black hair and a dark complexion. He was last reportedly wearing brown short pants and a cream-coloured T-shirt.

His family is appealing to the public for assistance, urging anyone who may have seen him or has information about his whereabouts to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to contact 720-5228 or the nearest police station.

Three persons remain in police custody as investigations and search efforts continue.
