For this writer, recognition is welcomed but never the driving force. With a career shaped by independence and a commitment to storytelling, the latest achievement has only strengthened a long-standing ambition to reach wider audiences through both novels and screenplays.
“I was pleased, satisfied , but not ecstatic because since I started writing as a teenager I have always marched to the beat of my own drum.
Hopefully my work will reach a wider audience although in these times there is a paucity of readers owing to the cheap diet provided on social media.
Both can be done simultaneously. Now that I have retired I can complete the novels first and then convert to screenplays, or convert completed movie scripts into novels. I have just completed my fourth novel and of the four , three screenplays plays are ready and waiting.”
