Site commissioned for the establishment of Green Space and Recreational Park at Tuschen.

Following commitments made by President Irfaan Ali to enhance community development, various arms of the government have collaborated to embark on a mission to create several ‘green spaces’ across Guyana.
Today, Minister of Local Government and Regional Development Nigel Dharamlall, accompanied by First Lady Arya Ali visited the site set out for the establishment of the Tuschen/Uitvlugt Recreational Park to be built at Tuschen East Bank Essequibo.
According to the First Lady, the space is being made available for the benefit of all citizens, as it will cater for the needs of children and elders.
While being a safe green space, the complex will consist of an exercising area, a cafeteria, children’s play area, lights for safety, benches and even a multipurpose hall.
Minister Dharamlall cited that this initiative is in keeping with the president’s vision to enhance every community, as investments will be done in every village to transform its economy.
The Minister noted that the Office of the First Lady has been actively involved in many beautification projects throughout Guyana in an effort to enhance and promote safety, security, pleasure and community integration.
He urged that once completed, the it is a collective responsibility to have the facility maintained and sustained for everyone’s benefit.
To this end, the government has expended millions of dollars to ensure these spaces will provide a safe environment for a wide crosses section of society.
