‘Satan’ wanted for murder

July 16 2026
Police have issued a wanted bulletin for a second suspect in the murder of tour guide and Wichabai Ranch employee Leon “Rasta” Baird.
The suspect has been identified as Wayne Joseph Carlos, also known as Wayne Castello and “Satan.” His last known address is Parishara Village, Central Rupununi.
According to police, Carlos is wanted in connection with the murder, which is alleged to have been committed between January 23 and January 25, 2026.
Baird’s badly burnt body was discovered inside a torched company vehicle in the Rupununi Savannahs.
Police have already charged Ken Faria, 49, of Central Rupununi, with Baird’s murder.
Investigators believe Baird’s killing may be linked to cattle rustling in the region.
Baird, a well-known tour guide and vaquero employed at Wichabai Ranch, had reportedly received several threats from individuals suspected of being involved in the theft of cattle belonging to his employer.
One line of investigation suggests he was killed during a confrontation with the suspected cattle rustlers.
Police are urging anyone with information on the whereabouts of Wayne Joseph Carlos, also known as “Satan,” to contact the nearest police station.
