Prime Suspect in Murder of Venezuelan Woman to be Charged

Police have received legal advice to charge Haslyn Hodge, the prime suspect in the murder of Evelyn Alves, a Venezuelan woman found dead with a gunshot wound to the back of her head.
Hodge is currently in police custody and is scheduled to appear at the Diamond Magistrate’s Court.

Hodge has a history of serious criminal charges, having been previously indicted for rape and murder.
The body of Evelyn Alves was discovered in the New Diamond Housing Scheme on Sunday, July 7, 2024. The discovery of her body with a bullet wound to the back of her head has shocked the community and prompted a swift investigation, leading to the imminent charges against Hodge.
