Director of Music in Guyana Police Force Senior Superintendent Charmaine Stuart has died.

BIG Smith News Watch has been informed that on Wednesday evening Mrs. Stuart was on her way to the hospital after complaining of feeling unwell.

At the time of her death, Senior Superintendent Charmaine Stuart severed as the Band Master, a position she was elevated to after serving for many years as its deputy.

The Guyana Police Force Force in a short statement on Wednesday evening noted that Stuart died at the Georgetown Public Hospital after she was rushed there following complaints of chest pains.

Charmaine Stuart served the Guyana Police Force in many capacities and was at the time of her death, also serving as the Police Women Association.

The now late Senior Superintendent of Police was the first female police officer to be awarded the Force Best Cop title a few years ago and also served as the Force Welfare Officer at one point.

Commissioner of Police Nigel Hoppie in a telephone interview with BIG Smith News Watch said the force will miss Senior Superintendent Stuart. He said the officer was a willing colleague who got the job done.

“I must say the police force is saddened by the passing of Ms. Stuart who we all know has worked tirelessly for the force and has more than 34 years of service. She was very committed and was one who could be called on at any time and was willing to work in any field,  something she demenstrated over time and would always give a 100… the force is truly saddened at her passing” Commissioner of Police Nigel Hoppie told BIG Smith News Watch.
