President Dr. Irfaan Ali has approved the appointment of a new set of Regional Executive Officers (REOs), according to a press statement issued today.

The announcement said the newly appointed officers are expected to work closely with regional administrations, local democratic organs and communities across the country to strengthen governance, advance development programmes and improve the delivery of public services.

The Government said the appointments form part of its ongoing efforts to build professional, responsive and people-centred institutions capable of supporting inclusive development in every region of Guyana.

Regional Executive Officers play a key administrative role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of regional democratic councils and implementing government policies and projects at the regional level.
