MV BARIMA DISASTER: 82-Yr-Old Port Kaituma seamstress/ vendor among passengers

Edith Gordon, also known as Ms Dutchie, a popular 82-year-old seamstress and vendor at the Port Kaituma Community High School, was among the passengers on the MV Barima, which capsized and sank off the coast of Essequibo between Saturday night and Sunday morning, July 18 and 19, 2016.
Speaking with BIG Smith News Watch on Sunday morning, Forbes Gordon, one of Edith’s five children, said the family is praying for the best.
He explained that his mother, who has an eye condition, travelled to Georgetown for medical attention as is customary.
He described his mother as a very well-known figure in the community.
