Two communities within the Matarkai Sub-region, Region One, have received new vehicles aimed at boosting their local economies.

On Saturday, Parliamentary Representative for the Region, Minister Collin Croal, handed over a minibus valued at $4.2 million to the leadership of Arakaka village.

In addition, the community of Citrus Grove was presented with a minibus worth $4.5 million and an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV). These three vehicles were procured through a supplemental budget, according to the Minister.

During the handover ceremony, Minister Croal urged village leaders to use the vehicles responsibly and make prudent decisions to enhance the economic prospects of their communities. The introduction of these vehicles is expected to significantly contribute to the local economy, providing improved transportation and fostering economic development.
