A media worker attached to RCA Television in Region Two drowned in the Pomeroon River on Tuesday morning after the boat in which he was travelling capsized.

The unfortunate incident occurred as the team of media workers were accompanying President Dr. Irfaan Ali on a visit to flood-affected areas in the Pomeroon.

Dead is 48-year-old Trevor Patrick, a father of three. According to Director of Public Information, Edward Layne, the crew were all wearing their life jackets when the incident occurred, and Patrick was in fact pulled from the water still clad in a life vest.

He was rushed to the Charity Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
