Man Charged with Attempted Murder of 1-Y-O
Shawn Davidson, a 24-year-old construction worker from the North East Squatting Area, Georgetown, has been charged with ‘attempted murder’ following an incident involving his one-year-old stepson.
Davidson was arrested by an officer from the East La Penitence Police Station’s Criminal Investigation Department and brought before the Georgetown Magistrates Court today.
Davidson appeared before Senior Magistrate Ms. Faith McGusty in Magistrates Court 1, where the charge was read. He was not required to plead and has been remanded to prison until August 12th, 2024, pending further investigation and reporting.
The charge stems from a disturbing incident on July 17th, 2024, in which Davidson allegedly attempted to murder his one-year-old stepson. Videos circulating on Facebook purportedly show Davidson terrorizing the child, sparking widespread public outrage.
