Mabaruma man feared dead following boat accident .

A 25-year-old man is feared dead after the boat he was operating collided with another in the Aruka River near the Kumaka Waterfront at Mabaruma on Sunday night.

Feared is Terry La Cruz , age 25.

 According to reports, sometime around 19:00 hrs on Sunday, La Cruz was heading home in his boat when he crashed into a bigger boat which another of his relatives was operating at the time.

A family member related that La Cruz was flung from the vessel and fell overboard. The people in the other boat, which included his father and sister, escaped with minor injuries.

A search commenced for La Cruz and at 07:00hrs this morning, his body was still not found. A search party is continuing to scour the river for the man’s body, a relative related.
