Police are seeking to verify the authenticity of a livestream that appears to show a wanted man, Jamal Bourne called ‘Skinny’, shooting himself in the head, even as authorities report that no related shooting has been officially recorded.

The footage, which was streamed live on social media earlier today, shows two youths, both partially masked, inside a building and consuming alcohol.

One of the youths is seen holding a firearm, removing the magazine, placing the weapon to his left temple and pulling the trigger.

A muffled explosive sound is heard, after which the youth appears to slump to the side, followed by audible screams. No visible blood was seen in the clip.

Police sources noted that gunshot wounds to the temple typically result in significant bleeding, raising questions about the authenticity of the incident.

BIG Smith News Watch has confirmed that the Guyana Police Force is aware of the livestream; however, no reports of a shooting matching the circumstances shown have been received in any police division.

The individual seen in the livestream is reportedly a resident of the East Bank of Demerara and is known to police.

A senior official disclosed that the suspect had previously staged his own death.

According to police, the man is wanted in connection with the September 2024 murder of Akeem Hamer, also known as “Max,” which occurred at Samaroo Dam, West Bank Demerara. Investigations into the livestream and the whereabouts of the suspect are ongoing.
