Kitty Teen Granted Bail For Motorcycle Theft

August 14 2025
A 19-year-old resident of Kitty, Georgetown, was on Wednesday granted bail after being charged with larceny for allegedly stealing a motorcycle.
Elijah Nieunkirk appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and pleaded not guilty to the charge.
He is accused of stealing a motorcycle valued at $211,000, belonging to Shanya Griffith, on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Lamaha Street, Kitty.
The prosecutor opposed bail, citing both the seriousness and prevalence of the offence.
The prosecution also noted the weight of evidence against Nieunkirk, including a video-recorded interview in which he allegedly admitted to the theft, and argued that he might not return to court if granted bail.
Representing Nieunkirk, attorney Stacy Goodings told the court that her client works as a plant attendant at Sterling Products and resides at Lot 13 Railway Line, Kitty.
She emphasized that this was his first time appearing before the court and asked that the magistrate consider reasonable bail, even with strict conditions in place.
“My client has a fixed abode, and this is his first time being charged,” Goodings said. She assured the court that her client would comply with any bail conditions imposed.
Magistrate Azore granted bail in the sum of $75,000, and the matter was adjourned to September 24, 2025.
