‘ISWE’ tells police he accidentally shot Shonette Dover

Captured fugitive Shaquan Alleyne called ‘ISWE’ has confessed to killing his girlfriend Shonette Dover in 2021 and burying her body in a shallow grave.
Crime chief Wendell Blanhum confirmed Friday night that Alleyne made the confession while being questioned at the Criminal Investigation Department Headquarters.
The suspect was asked about the April 2021 murder at Canvas City, Linden.
“Yes, I wish to state what happened, want to say, it wasn’t intentional act, it wasn’t premeditated” Alleyne told detectives.
He said on that morning in April, the exact date which he cannot remember, Dover made breakfast for him and they were sitting in the living room when he sent her sister to bring him the gun which would eventually kill Dover, a .38 Special.
He told detectives that he sent for the gun because he wanted to clean it as he had the day before, took Dover to practice to shoot as he was becoming a target for some ‘bad boy’ in the region he told detectives, wanted to rob him.
“While cleaning the gun, I pulled back the hammer and I did spraying double D 40, Shonette was sitting in a chair and I was in front of her on another chair handle when I pointed the gun and waved it. Shonette told me to stop playing and my finger touched the trigger and the gun went off and I see smoke in the living room and Shonette lying motionless with a wound in her forehead and blood coming out”
The young explained to the police on Friday night that he and Colletta (Shonette Dover’s sister) decided to bury the body on Dover in the back yard as they did not want the family to endure the pain of knowing Shonette Dover was killed.
Alleyne stated that they both came up with a story that Dover left for work and did not return home.
he said he later sold the gun to a man in Linden and fled to Suriname where he later learnt that Dover’s sister was arrested for the murder.
The police investigations are ongoing into this matter.
