Police Finalize Investigation into Ronaldo Peters’ Fatal Shooting

April 22, 2025 – The Guyana Police Force’s Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR), in collaboration with the Regional Security System (RSS), has concluded its investigation into the alleged fatal shooting of Ronaldo Peters.
According to a press statement from the Guyana Police Force, authorities confirmed that the case file will be submitted to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) by April 23, 2025, for legal advice on the matter.
The investigation forms part of ongoing efforts to ensure transparency and accountability in police operations.
Meanwhile, additional steps are being taken to finalize the investigation into the fatal shooting of Keon Fogenay. Investigators are expected to interview more witnesses today, a move aimed at closing remaining gaps before that case file is also submitted for prosecutorial review.
The Regional Security System, which has been supporting the investigations, is also expected to submit a comprehensive report detailing its findings and recommendations related to both incidents.
These developments come amid heightened public scrutiny and underscore the commitment of the security forces to pursue due process and justice in matters involving the use of lethal force.
