Three Cuban nationals have been charged with the murder of Yudivian Cardenas Amador Almagro, who was killed at Diamond, East Bank Demerara, on July 22.

The accused are 26-year-old barber Alejandro Igalza Rios, called “Papote”; 29-year-old construction worker Juan Pablo Ferrer Perez; and 24-year-old labourer Mairely Felicita Medinas Alvarez. All three reside at Timehri, East Bank Demerara.

The trio were arrested on July 29 and 30 in connection with the killing.

They appeared on Tuesday, August 4, before Magistrate D. Bess at the Diamond/Golden Grove Magistrates’ Court, where the indictable murder charge was read to them.

The accused were not required to plead and were subsequently remanded to prison.

The matter was adjourned to September 21, 2026.
