Intruder enters state communications Headquarters; spent hours undetected

October 27, 2025
An intruder managed to enter the Home Stretch Avenue complex, which houses the National Communications Network Inc. (NCN) and the Department of Public Information (DPI) headquarters.
NCN and DPI operate the state’s radio and television stations, and are also responsible for controlling the dissemination of state and government information nationwide.
Usual reliable sources told BIG Smith News Watch that the intruder entered the premises just after midnight and remained for a lengthy period.
During his unauthorized and undetected visit to the complex, the intruder helped himself to a television, a hard drive, drank some juice, changed his clothing, and also ran through several documents within the Department of Public Information.
The man then left the facility via the fire escape, walked towards the western fence, and ended up in the compound of the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall next door.
Director of Public Information Edward Layne confirmed the intrusion when contacted by this publication.
Layne said when the staff showed up for work on Monday, they observed that a television from the lobby was missing. After checks found that it was not relocated to any part of the building by the staff. The CCTV Cameras were reviewed.
During the review of the cameras, the intruder was spotted. His movements through the office suggested that he was familiar with its layout.
According to Edward Layne, the intruder entered and left via the emergency exit. He further stated that the intruder knew where all the emergency exits are located. The police were informed of the incident and also provided them with the CCTV footage.
