GuyAmerica Security arrested for ‘Gun play’ in Eccles

Two men employed by GuyAmerica Security Service were arrested by the police on Monday morning in relation to a videos that showed them firing shots into the air late Sunday night in the Eccles Community.

A video which was first released by this publication on Sunday evening, showed one man handing a weapon to another who then pointed the weapon into the air and discharged several rounds.

Residents in the community have indicated that before the video was recorded, they became alarmed at the sounds of several shots which were previously fired at the said location.

The community of Eccles is home to a number of senior government, police, Judiciary and other public officials. The discharging of the firearm raises serious questions of a security nature and the irresponsibility of the security company and its operatives.

“Based on investigation, a firearm along with matching rounds of ammunition were taken into Police possession” a police statement noted on Monday Morning.

Recently, persons connected to the said security company drew a firearm inside the Providence Police Station while the police were investigating a matter in which a complaint was made against someone connected to the firm.

That matter is presently with the Director of Public Prosecution awaiting advise.
