Bhola seeking protection for Adrianna Younge memorial

April 24 2026
Bhojenarine Bhola, owner of the Double Day Hotel, has formally requested police security as the family of 11-year-old Adrianna Younge prepares to observe the first anniversary of her death.
In a letter addressed to the Commander of Regional Division Three, which has since been circulated online, Bhola cited concerns over safety and public order in light of planned activities on April 24, 2026.
“As your office is aware, this date marks the one-year anniversary of the discovery of 11-year-old Adrianna Younge at our facility. Public announcements indicate that a commemorative walk is scheduled for the late afternoon of April 24, proceeding from Parika to Tuschen, followed by a memorial service in the immediate vicinity,” the letter stated.
“Given the significant public interest and the events that transpired in April 2025, we are requesting security coverage to:
• Ensure the safety of our staff and any patrons on the premises.
• Maintain order and prevent potential disruptions to the flow of traffic on the Tuschen Public Road
• Prevent any unauthorized entry or damage to the private property during the march,” Bhola added.
April 24, 2026 marks one year since Adrianna Younge was found dead in a swimming pool at the hotel under circumstances her relatives have described as suspicious.
The incident sparked widespread public outrage at the time, triggering protests and unrest across parts of the country.
The Double Day Hotel and Bhola’s home was destroyed by fire allegedly set by protesters.
