Guyanese Attorney graduated with Master of Science in Fraud and Risk Management

Attorney-at- Law Dexter Todd is the first Guyanese Lawyer to receive a Master of Science in Fraud and Risk Management. It is his third Degree and was earned from the University of Salford, Manchester in the United Kingdom.

Todd is the first lawyer in Guyana to hold such a degree in which he studied Mobile Banking and Financial innovation such as Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. He also studied International Corporate Law and governance with a focus on the issues in corporate governance and rights of stakeholders, Bank financial Management and International Banking with focus on banking structures, the contextual framework of international banking and finance, and fraud risk management with focus on theories and developments.

Attorney Todd’s areas of study are relevant for Guyana’s development, especially in the field of financial fraud and money laundering.

Todd thanked those who supported him during his studies noting that “as Guyana and the world face changes we must embrace the development of the legal systems.”

“Five (5 ) years devoted back to academic studies was not easy but it was worth it. Most of all thank you Jesus for the gift of life and this opportunity you have given to me,” he added.
