Manchester City disposed of defending champions, will face Inter Milan in Champions League final.

In a game where they never once looked like they were the inferior side, Manchester City overpowers Real Madrid en route to this year’s Champions League final, which will be played in Istanbul on the 10th of June 2023 against Inter Milan.
Routing Madrid 4-0, it would propel Guardiola to 100 wins in the competition, making him the 3rd coach to ever achieve that feat, behind Sir Alex Ferguson and Carlo Ancelotti, who are the only coaches with more wins in the competition. Carlo Ancelotti also became the coach to have managed the most games in this competition by managing his 191st game.
Bernardo Silva struck twice early on to give the host a 2-0 lead and all but secured the game at that point, in a game where holders, Real Madrid, never looked threatening. It was Manchester City who came out of the dugout ready for the challenge of overcoming Madrid, who knocked them out at this stage last year in the competition.
Applying the high press on Madrid worked, and for the 1st fourteen minutes of the match, 6 Real Madrid players hadn’t made a pass yet. In the 23rd minute, Bernardo Silva capped off a string of neat passing by City by slotting home a brilliant shot from a Kevin Debruyne pass.
Just over 10 minutes later, it was Real Madrid who looked threatening when Toni Kroos’s shot rocked the crossbar of Ederson’s goal. City did not panic, and instead, 2 minutes later, Silva headed in another goal off a deflected shot that came from Gundogan.
The defending champions never looked as though they would stage a comeback much like last season, and City dominance over the match continued to be exerted in the second half. Eder Militao had deflected a shot from Akanji into his own net before Alverez made it 4 in the dying minute of the game.
