Police are investigating a suspected murder–suicide that occurred early Tuesday morning at a guest house on Lime Street, Wortmanville, Georgetown.

The incident is believed to have taken place between 05:00 hrs and 08:15 hrs on January 13, 2026.

The deceased have been identified as Loriann, a 31-year-old housekeeper whose address is currently unknown, and Cyril Saul, a 36-year-old security guard of Lime Street, Wortmanville.

According to a police report, investigations revealed that both individuals were employees of the guest house and were the only staff members on duty during the overnight period.

Police further disclosed that the two were previously involved in an intimate relationship, which reportedly ended approximately two months ago.

Upon responding to the scene, police ranks found the woman lying motionless in one of the rooms with visible injuries, while the man was discovered unresponsive in a separate room.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene by a doctor from the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.

Several items were recovered from the location, including a firearm, ammunition, a knife, and a quantity of a suspected substance.

These items have been secured for forensic examination. Investigators have also reviewed CCTV footage from the premises, which is now forming part of the ongoing probe. Several individuals have since been contacted and questioned as part of the investigation.

The bodies were transported to the Memorial Funeral Parlour Mortuary, where post-mortem examinations are pending.

Further details are expected as the probe progresses.
