Dr Ramayya released on $200k station bail following fatal accident

Dr Veerasammy Ramayya, 79, has been released on $200,000 station bail as police continue investigating the fatal accident that claimed the life of 42-year-old Ishwarnauth Bisram on Nigg Public Road, Corentyne.
Ramayya was taken into police custody following the August 8, 2026 collision, during which Bisram was struck while reportedly attempting to cross Nigg Public Road.
Police have also been reviewing CCTV footage from the area as part of efforts to establish the circumstances surrounding the accident.
The investigation remains ongoing pending legal advice.
