Decomposed Body of Woman Found at Eccles

A woman’s body was discovered in a trench near the Eccles dumpsite road on the East Bank of Demerara last evening.
According to Police reports, the discovery was called in to the Police 911 Hotline, prompting a response from law enforcement.
Upon arrival, police officers found the partially decomposed body of a woman, believed to be of mixed ancestry and estimated to be between 30 and 40 years old.
The body was found floating face-down in the trench, clad in long black tights, a grey sleeveless top, and one slipper.
A crime scene investigator at the scene noted that what appeared to be a mixture of blood and water was coming from the nostrils, and the woman’s face was swollen. However, no visible signs of violence were observed on the body.
The remains have been transported to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, where they will undergo identification procedures and a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.
