A 41-year-old handyman, Kent Williams, has been sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment after pleading guilty to the offence of Break and Enter and Larceny.

Williams, who has no fixed place of abode, was charged in relation to a break-in at the premises of a businessman (no name provided) from Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara.

The court heard that the offence occurred between January 21, 2026, and February 6, 2026, during which Williams allegedly unlawfully entered the businessman’s property and committed larceny.

He was arrested on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, and formally charged the following day.

Williams appeared before Senior Magistrate Clive Nurse at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at approximately 10:30 hrs, where the charge was read to him.

He pleaded guilty and was subsequently sentenced to one year in prison.
