Cocaine and Cannabis Seized at Mahdia Arcade
September 30, 2025 – Police in Regional Division #8 have seized quantities of cocaine and cannabis following an intelligence-led operation at the Mahdia Arcade on Monday.
According to a police report, the exercise, led by a Chief Inspector, saw ranks conducting searches within the Arcade, where they discovered three bulky plastic bags. Two of the bags contained whitish, rock-like substances suspected to be cocaine, while the third held several small zip-lock bags filled with leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be cannabis.
A further search in an alleyway leading to a nearby hotel uncovered another large bag containing more suspected cannabis.
The narcotics were taken to the Mahdia Police Station, where testing and weighing were conducted. The cannabis amounted to 290 grams, while the suspected cocaine weighed 85 grams.
No arrests have yet been made in connection with the discovery. Police investigations remain ongoing.
