‘Bulla’, ‘Mad Dawg’ Remanded on Robbery Charge

September 15 2025
Two men from Berbice were on Friday remanded to prison after being accused of carrying out a $2.7 million armed robbery.
Kevin Padmore, 31, known as “Bulla,” and Cordell Small, 34, called “Mad Dawg,” appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court. The duo were not required to enter a plea to the indictable charge.
According to the allegation, on September 9, 2025, at King Street, Dukestown, Corriverton, Berbice, the men, while armed with a gun, robbed Willeina Dhup and Richard Dhup of cash and valuables amounting to $2.7 million.
The prosecutor opposed bail, stressing that both men are repeat offenders. The court was told that Padmore currently has pending cases involving bodily harm before another court, and that both defendants have prior convictions for similar offences.
During the proceedings, Padmore, who appeared virtually, told the Magistrate that he was assaulted by police officers while in custody.
Magistrate McGusty ruled against bail, pointing to the seriousness of the offence, the fact that it was allegedly committed while on bail for another matter, and the defendants’ history as repeat offenders.
The case was adjourned to October 16.
