BREAKING NEWS: CHILD, MOTHER AND FATHER ATTACKED BY GUNMEN, FATHER DIES
38 Year old Kelvin Walters of Forshaw Street Queenstown this evening died at the Georgetown Public Hospital where he sought treatment after being shot in the mouth.
The man who works as a taxi driver was driving along the western carriage way of the East bank Demerara Public Road with his wife, 44 year old Roxanne Henry and their 5 year old daughter Azaria Walters when they were approached by two men on a motorcycle.
According to information reaching the BIG Smith Crime Watch, the rider of the motorcycle rode up alongside the car that Walters was driving and told him something.
The Walters reportedly ignored him and continued driving and at the motorcyclist increased his speed and stopped in front of the car, effectively blocking its path.
Walters subsequently drove over the motorcycle but the pillion rider of the motorcycle got up and open fire at the driver which struck him in the mouth.
The two suspect them fled the scene on foot, leaving behind a 9mm pistol with fourteen live rounds of ammunition.
Roxanne Henry reportedly suffered a broken right foot as a result of her husband losing control of the vehicle and slamming into the medium.
The five year old child is said to be safe and did not receive any injuries as a result of the commotion this evening.
The police are investigating the matter even as we were told the suspects were not able to take anything from the victims. The police are not sure if at this point, the incident was a robbery attempt or a hit.
