Workers of the Ministry of Home Affairs have been asked to hold off a bit from entering the building as police detectives are investigating a break-in at the Ministry.
Located on Brickdam, the Home Affairs Ministry houses the office offices of the Minister of Home Affairs and her Permanent Secretaries among other key personnel.
Contacted this morning, Minister of Home Affairs Oneidge Walrond confirmed that police are investigating a break at her ministry.
She said security personnel who were on duty noticed from the cameras they were monitoring, that someone was inside the building.
The individual was seen ransacking offices and drawers located on the middle floor which houses mostly administration staff.
“It was the security who saw on the camera that a man was inside the building ransacking offices and drawers. This was on the middle floor where we have the personnel, CPG, Management and Admin offices… mostly administration is on that floor. He was also seen using the fire escape to leave the building” Minister Walrond told BIG Smith News Watch.
