Star Party Rentals and S. Jagmohan Construction have come on board to facilitate the outfitting of a football team that recently won the Commissioner’s Cup Football Tournament. The outfitting of the team was done through the office of the Commissioner of Police.

Speaking at the simple ceremony Tuesday inside the Commissioner’s Board Room, one player, Selwyn Williams said the gear will go a far way in helping them to train and take part in more tournaments. He referred to an upcoming game they have this weekend which will see them stepping out in style with their new gears to compete.

Sherrad Williams in representing the promoter; thanked the Commissioner and sponsors for their involvement in ensuring that young people continue to have gaming activities which are vital to keeping the youth positively engaged.

In her remarks, Rosana Chaitnarine who represented S. Jagmohan Construction related that the company has a very keen interest in ensuring it stays true to supporting communities through its Corporate Social Responsibilities.

Deputy Commissioner of Police-Administration Calvin Brutus spoke about the pleasing sight of seeing activities that bring young people together which allows for networking.

He reminded of the Guyana Police Force’s continued engagement with communities across the country as the force seeks to strengthen its relations with members of the public; not only through soft policing but also through the facilitation of academic opportunities.

Player Adrian Aaron in his vote of thanks regarded the collaboration of multi-agencies as a good step forward for the youths and called on Commissioner of Police Clifton Hicken to visit their community as the youths would like to meet with him.
