A policeman stationed at the Annandale Police Outpost in Regional Division 4-C is arrested in connection with a fatal accident which occurred on the Beehive Public Road, Sunday night, where one man was killed on the spot and the other left to die, just after 23:00 hrs. on June 28, 2026.

39-year-old construction worker Collis Bristol of Nabaclis, East Coast Demerara died on the spot while 31-Year-old Horse Cart Operator Akeem Burges of Golden Grove died while receiving medical attention at the Enmore Regional Hospital.

The two were at the time riding motorcycle CG 8393 with Bristol being the rider.

On Thursday 29-year-old Police Corporal 23531 Shareef Mohamed was arrested by the police after Traffic and Criminal detective ranks worked together in determining that Corporal Mohamed had a part to play in the accident.

This was following a previous visit to his home two days before based on information which was received.

When the police visited his home at Lot 25 Riverview Housing Scheme, Unity village, his vehicle PAK 1593 has visible damage which are consistent with an accident.

When he was questioned about how the car was damaged, he told his colleague police that he lost control of his vehicle and ended up in a trench right in Unity Village.

The cops subsequently left but returned on Thursday where he was arrested and his vehicle lodged.

A detailed inspection of the vehicle provided the police with key evidence they needed to go ahead and seek legal advice with a view of pressing charges against 29 year old Shareef Mohamed a police Corporal for the deaths of the Collis Bristol and Akeem Burges.
