State House intruder is Nigerian National with security training

INJURED STATE HOUSE INTRUDER: Bethel Chineze
As the Guyana Police Force continues to probe the circumstances surrounding what is now being termed in unofficial circles as an attempt at the life of Guyana’s President Irfaan Ali, details are now emerging regarding the identity of the intruder.
BIG Smith News Watch has been told that the intruder has been identified as Bethel Chineze, a Nigerian National who has been living in Guyana for less than four years.
After arriving in Guyana, Bethel was employed with a leading security company which is based in Georgetown. Bethel Chineze as part of his security duties was assigned to work at a bank on Camp Street. It is unclear if, at the time of launching the attack at State House, Bethel was still employed with the Security Company.
The young man on Thursday showed up at State House, the official residence of Guyana’s President and the First Family where he confronted a Presidential Guard with a knife before disarming the guard.
He then inflicted several stab wounds on the guard before trading bullets with other Presidential Guards at the State House. He was hit and both he and the presidential Guard he stabbed, were taken for medical attention.
A video has since surfaced with Bethel trading bullets with the Presidential Guard on Carmichael Street. The main entrance and exit point for the President.
At the moment, the area remains cordoned off as Detectives continue their investigations into the incident even as the President, First Lady, and their son remain on tight security inside the State House.
