Christmas came early this year for almost 300 children residing in Region Five (Mahaica-Berbice. This was made possible by Backpack International- a US-based international charity founded by a Guyanese.

The children received backpacks filled with school supplies, hygiene products, books, toys, snacks, footwear, clothing among other treats.

Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the charity  was unable to host its annual summer mission trip and Vacation Bible School.

A local team of volunteers from various churches in Region 5 worked together to make this event possible.
