Daniels scores eight as Potaro open with 20-goal victory
Teams line up for Women’s Division One opening ceremony
Potaro Strikers began their GFF Women’s Division One League campaign with a 20–0 win against Monedderlust at Providence.
Nerismar Daniels scored eight goals and Virlerkys Simon added five, while Shemia Hing contributed a hat-trick.
In the other opening fixture, Ann’s Grove United defeated River’s View 3–0 after a goalless first half.
The league launch also brought appeals for greater financial support for women’s football. Minister Vanessa Benn and GFF official Dion Inniss urged investment in the practical needs of players, teams and coaches.
