Caribbean Tax Leaders gather in Guyana for COTA General Assembly

The 27th General Assembly and Technical Conference of the Caribbean Organisation of Tax Administrators (COTA) opened in Georgetown on Tuesday, bringing together tax administrators and revenue management experts from across the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).

CARICOM Secretary-General Dr. Carla Barnett delivered the opening remarks, while Senior Minister in the Office of the President with Responsibility for Finance, Dr. Ashni Singh, delivered the featured address.

Held under the theme, “Future-Ready CARICOM Tax Administration – Smart, Data-Driven and AI-Enabled for Sustainable Revenue,” the conference will focus on how technology, advanced data analytics and artificial intelligence can modernise tax administration, improve compliance, enhance taxpayer services and strengthen sustainable revenue mobilisation across the region.

The multi-day event is being hosted by the CARICOM Secretariat in collaboration with the Guyana Revenue Authority and provides a platform for regional collaboration and knowledge-sharing on the future of tax administration.
