20 students tied for top NGSA spot

Twenty pupils from across Guyana have tied for the top position in this year’s National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA), achieving the perfect score of 484.52 marks.

 

Among the highest performers were pupils from Regions Two, Three, Four, Six and Ten, as well as Georgetown, all securing placements at some of the country’s leading secondary schools, including Queen’s College.

 

In Region Two, Giana De Silva of Better Hope Primary School and Zaida Gonzalez** of Suddie Primary School both achieved 484.52 marks and will attend Queen’s College.

 

Region Three produced five top performers Devya Sukhai, Hayden Solomon, Iron Fredericks, Sayle Persaud and Simran Sanichari, all scoring 484.52 marks and earning places at Queen’s College.

 

Region Four’s top achievers included Christina Doodnauth of Lusignan Primary School and four pupils from Success Elementary School, Chaitram Haripershad, Gaurav Deonarine, Nathalya Khan and Shivendra Brijbhukan, all with perfect scores.

 

Other regional top performers included Kacy Hailie Kamal of Tain Primary School (Region Six), Tyrese Abrams of Regma Primary School (Region Ten), and six pupils from Georgetown, including Anjali Persaud, Asiera Mohamed, Divya Isha Persaud, Kayleigh Phillips, Raiden Rambissoon and Zahriya Niamatali, who all achieved 484.52 marks.

 

The top score was calculated from performance in four subjects — Mathematics, English, Social Studies and Science.
