A fourth man has been charged and remanded in connection with the ongoing investigation into the discovery of ten AK-47 rifles in East Coast Berbice.

Ryan Singh, called “Satan,” a 34-year-old labourer of Parika, East Bank Essequibo, appeared on Wednesday at the Leonora Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Alisha George, where he was charged with conspiracy to commit a felony under Section 33 of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01.

The charge relates to investigations into the alleged possession of ten AK-47 rifles without a licence, which were discovered in East Coast Berbice.

Singh pleaded not guilty to the charge. Bail was refused, and he was remanded to prison until July 10, 2026.

He becomes the latest person to be charged in the high-profile firearms investigation.

Previously charged in connection with the same matter are Stephen Rajah, a 33-year-old taxi driver of Goed Fortuin Village; Antonio Alonzo Lawrie, 33, of Farm Village, East Bank Demerara; and Gregory Persaud, 21, also of Farm Village.

Rajah was charged after he was allegedly the driver of the vehicle from which the ten AK-47 rifles were recovered during an intelligence-led operation along the Corentyne corridor.

Lawrie and Persaud were jointly charged with conspiracy to commit a felony, while Persaud was also charged separately with unlawful possession of a firearm without a licence.

The investigation began in May 2026 after police recovered ten AK-47 rifles wrapped in plastic and cloth in the No. 11 Village area, Corentyne, following a vehicle allegedly evading a checkpoint.

Investigations are continuing into the origin of the weapons and the possible involvement of other persons.
