Firearm parts, ammo, military gear found at Lusignan

A quantity of ammunition, firearm components and military-style gear was discovered among construction debris at Lusignan New Housing Scheme, East Coast Demerara, on Tuesday.
The items were found during a search of an unoccupied plot of land in the area.
According to reports, the discovery included 7.62 x 39mm live rounds of ammunition, spent shells, 12-gauge cartridges, a tear gas canister, firearm components and military gear.
The items were taken into custody and transported to the Vigilance Police Station, where they were secured for further investigation.
No arrests have been made as authorities continue their probe into the discovery.
