Mangra Claims Top Spot as NTFGL Tour #2 Intensifies

Maxim Mangra is the latest winner in the NTFGL League
The National Top Flight Golf League (NTFGL) Tour #2 delivered another exciting round of competition on Sunday at the Lusignan Golf Club, as players battled fiercely for valuable points in one of Guyana’s fastest-growing amateur golf competitions.
With excellent weather conditions and a competitive field of 22 golfers, the tournament once again highlighted the high standard and growing intensity of the league.
Leading the way was Maxim “Danny” Mangra, who produced a superb performance to capture first place with an impressive net 67. Mangra set the tone early by carding a remarkable net 31 on the front nine, establishing a lead that proved difficult for the rest of the field to overcome. His victory earned him the maximum 10 points and moved him into sole possession of the league lead.
The back nine proved highly competitive, with Anand Persaud producing the best score on that side of the course with a net 32. Persaud eventually secured second place following a countback decision after finishing tied on net 71 with Fazil Hanif, who claimed third place.
Patrick Prashad also finished strongly with a net 71 to secure additional league points, while veteran competitor Chet Bowling rounded out the points standings with a net 72.
Following Round Two, the updated NTFGL standings are:
Danny Mangra – 10 Points
Videsh Persaud – 8 Points
Anand Persaud – 8 Points
Spencer Hutchings – 5 Points
Rohan Albert – 5 Points
Mohanlall Dinanauth – 5 Points

Organizers noted that the competition is becoming increasingly competitive, with every point carrying significant importance in the race for the season title. Consistency and composure are already emerging as key factors as players continue to battle for position on the leaderboard.
With momentum building after another successful round, the National Top Flight Golf League continues to strengthen its reputation as a premier platform for competitive amateur golf in Guyana.
