Ballers Empire claim National Guinness Greatest street title

Ballers Empire pulled off the coveted title win to claim the National Guinness Greatest of the Streets trophy in the wee hours of Saturday morning at the National Park Tarmac.
Ballers, playing out of the East Bank/West Demerara zone came out hot, putting Leopold Street who are the Georgetown champs on the back foot with an early goal, that had the city based side reeling early in the game.
Nevertheless, adding drama to the already drama-filled finale, Leopold managed to equalize with both sides hunting the winning goal.

However, it was Ballers Empire who scored late in the game to eventually claim the title and the one million-dollar prize up for grabs. Leopold Street for their efforts received $400,000.
Meanwhile, in the third place game, Bent Street ‘B’ topped Supenaam from Essequibo 2-1 on penalty kicks after both sides finished regulation tied one all.
Bent Street ‘B’ received $200,000 for third while Supenaam for fourth place finished with $100,000.
